Old Testament Scripture Reading Psa 119:153-160 (NASB) (Psa 119:153 NASB) Look upon my affliction and rescue me, For I do not forget Thy law. (Psa 119:154 NASB) Plead my cause and redeem me; Revive me according to Thy word. (Psa 119:155 NASB) Salvation is far from the wicked, For they do not seek Thy statutes. (Psa 119:156 NASB) Great are Thy mercies, O LORD; Revive me according to Thine ordinances. (Psa 119:157 NASB) Many are my persecutors and my adversaries, Yet I do not turn aside from Thy testimonies. (Psa 119:158 NASB) I behold the treacherous and loathe them, Because they do not keep Thy word. (Psa 119:159 NASB) Consider how I love Thy precepts; Revive me, O LORD, according to Thy lovingkindness. (Psa 119:160 NASB) The sum of Thy word is truth, And every one of Thy righteous ordinances is everlasting. New Testament Scripture Reading Romans 7:14-25 (KJV) (Rom 7:14 KJV) For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. (Rom 7:15 KJV) For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. (Rom 7:16 KJV) If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. (Rom 7:17 KJV) Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. (Rom 7:18 KJV) For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. (Rom 7:19 KJV) For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. (Rom 7:20 KJV) Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. (Rom 7:21 KJV) I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. (Rom 7:22 KJV) For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: (Rom 7:23 KJV) But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. (Rom 7:24 KJV) O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? (Rom 7:25 KJV) I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. Study Notes

Old Testament Scripture Reading Proverbs 15:32-16:6 (NASB)
(Prov 15:32 NASB) He who neglects discipline despises himself, But he who listens to reproof acquires understanding.
(Prov 15:33 NASB) The fear of the LORD is the instruction for wisdom, And before honor comes humility.

(Prov 16:1 NASB) The plans of the heart belong to man, But the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.

(Prov 16:2 NASB) All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight, But the LORD weighs the motives.

(Prov 16:3 NASB) Commit your works to the LORD, And your plans will be established.

(Prov 16:4 NASB) The LORD has made everything for its own purpose, Even the wicked for the day of evil.

(Prov 16:5 NASB) Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD; Assuredly, he will not be unpunished.

(Prov 16:6 NASB) By lovingkindness and truth iniquity is atoned for, And by the fear of the LORD one keeps away from evil.

(Prov 16:7 NASB) When a man’s ways are pleasing to the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

New Testament Scripture Reading Ephesians 2:1-10 (NASB)
(Eph 2:1 NASB) And you were dead in your trespasses and sins,
(Eph 2:2 NASB) in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.

(Eph 2:3 NASB) Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.

(Eph 2:4 NASB) But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

(Eph 2:5 NASB) even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

(Eph 2:6 NASB) and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus,

(Eph 2:7 NASB) in order that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

(Eph 2:8 NASB) For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

(Eph 2:9 NASB) not as a result of works, that no one should boast.

(Eph 2:10 NASB) For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

In Adam or In Christ

Old Testament Scripture Reading Psalms 49:1 – 15 (NASB)
Psa 49:1  (For the choir director. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.) Hear this, all peoples; Give ear, all inhabitants of the world,
Psa 49:2  Both low and high, Rich and poor together.
Psa 49:3  My mouth will speak wisdom; And the meditation of my heart will be understanding.
Psa 49:4  I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will express my riddle on the harp.
Psa 49:5  Why should I fear in days of adversity, When the iniquity of my foes surrounds me,
Psa 49:6  Even those who trust in their wealth, And boast in the abundance of their riches?
Psa 49:7  No man can by any means redeem his brother, Or give to God a ransom for him–
Psa 49:8  For the redemption of his soul is costly, And he should cease trying forever–
Psa 49:9  That he should live on eternally; That he should not undergo decay.
Psa 49:10  For he sees that even wise men die; The stupid and the senseless alike perish, And leave their wealth to others.
Psa 49:11  Their inner thought is, that their houses are forever, And their dwelling places to all generations; They have called their lands after their own names.
Psa 49:12  But man in his pomp will not endure; He is like the beasts that perish.
Psa 49:13  This is the way of those who are foolish, And of those after them who approve their words. Selah.
Psa 49:14  As sheep they are appointed for Sheol; Death shall be their shepherd; And the upright shall rule over them in the morning; And their form shall be for Sheol to consume, So that they have no habitation.
Psa 49:15  But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol; For He will receive me. Selah.
New Testament Scripture Reading Romans 5:8 – 19 (NASB)
Rom 5:8  But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Rom 5:9  Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
Rom 5:10  For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
Rom 5:11  And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
Rom 5:12  Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned–
Rom 5:13  for until the Law sin was in the world; but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
Rom 5:14  Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.
Rom 5:15  But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many.
Rom 5:16  And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand the judgment arose from one transgression resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the free gift arose from many transgressions resulting in justification.
Rom 5:17  For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
Rom 5:18  So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men.
Rom 5:19  For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.

Transforming Power Statements:
#1) The confusion of the devil always manifests itself in the world of unbelievers who toss about the multitude of either atheist or religious ideas that compete for the hearts and minds of people seeking to understand the truth concerning God, Who obviously exists as known through the complexity of all that is known to exist; as people seek somehow to reconcile all this confusion; many times by blending them all, rather than accepting that they all by that standard must be unjust for that makes no logical sense. (Challenge: Listen carefully to the claims of Jesus Christ, and His Apostles, {the primary writers of the New Testament}, and the orthodox teaching of fundamental Christianity from exegesis of the Holy Bible and pray for understanding about the gospel.)
#2) The Psalmist understood that there is no way that one man can pay the ransom for another and not even for himself, because the debt of sin is an infinite one that could only be paid by God Himself.
#3) The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only sensible possibility for providing sinners in debt to a Holy God, a way of escape without defiling the righteousness of the Most High God, and therefore, we must endeavor to preach it in all the earth as our reasonable service to God and to all humankind.

True Inner Diagnosis

Old Testament Scripture Reading ()
Psa 32:1 (A Psalm of David. A Maskil.) How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered!
Psa 32:2 How blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit!
Psa 32:3 When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away Through my groaning all day long.
Psa 32:4 For day and night Thy hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was drained away as with the fever heat of summer. Selah.
Psa 32:5 I acknowledged my sin to Thee, And my iniquity I did not hide; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD”; And Thou didst forgive the guilt of my sin. Selah.
Psa 32:6 Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to Thee in a time when Thou mayest be found; Surely in a flood of great waters they shall not reach him.
Psa 32:7 Thou art my hiding place; Thou dost preserve me from trouble; Thou dost surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.
New Testament Scripture Reading Romans 7:7 – 13 (NASB)
Rom 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? May it never be! On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, “YOU SHALL NOT COVET.”
Rom 7:8 But sin, taking opportunity through the commandment, produced in me coveting of every kind; for apart from the Law sin is dead.
Rom 7:9 And I was once alive apart from the Law; but when the commandment came, sin became alive, and I died;
Rom 7:10 and this commandment, which was to result in life, proved to result in death for me;
Rom 7:11 for sin, taking opportunity through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me.
Rom 7:12 So then, the Law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good.
Rom 7:13 Therefore did that which is good become a cause of death for me? May it never be! Rather it was sin, in order that it might be shown to be sin by effecting my death through that which is good, that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful.

Transforming Power Statements:

#1) The holiness of the law of God amplifies the existence of sin within all the human family, and therefore cannot ever be a means of salvation, but is a revealer of the truth about the fallen sinful heart of man.

#2) The holy law of God is a mirror to reflect the deep seated inner lack of every human being to meet God’s standard of perfection and is designed to send us running to God for mercy as children often do to their parents.

#3) It is not the fault of the law that we are sinners, but it is the work of the law to convict us that we are sinners who always need redemption, grace, and salvation that only God has provided in His Son Christ Jesus.

Executing The Credentials of Salvation

Old Testament Scripture Reading Isaiah 51:1 – 8 (NASB)
Isa 51:1 “Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness, Who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were hewn, And to the quarry from which you were dug.
Isa 51:2 “Look to Abraham your father, And to Sarah who gave birth to you in pain; When he was one I called him, Then I blessed him and multiplied him.”
Isa 51:3 Indeed, the LORD will comfort Zion; He will comfort all her waste places. And her wilderness He will make like Eden, And her desert like the garden of the LORD; Joy and gladness will be found in her, Thanksgiving and sound of a melody.
Isa 51:4 “Pay attention to Me, O My people; And give ear to Me, O My nation; For a law will go forth from Me, And I will set My justice for a light of the peoples.
Isa 51:5 “My righteousness is near, My salvation has gone forth, And My arms will judge the peoples; The coastlands will wait for Me, And for My arm they will wait expectantly.
Isa 51:6 “Lift up your eyes to the sky, Then look to the earth beneath; For the sky will vanish like smoke, And the earth will wear out like a garment, And its inhabitants will die in like manner, But My salvation shall be forever, And My righteousness shall not wane.
Isa 51:7 “Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, A people in whose heart is My law; Do not fear the reproach of man, Neither be dismayed at their revilings.
Isa 51:8 “For the moth will eat them like a garment, And the grub will eat them like wool. But My righteousness shall be forever, And My salvation to all generations.”
New Testament Scripture Reading Romans 8:28 – 39 (KJV)
Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Rom 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Rom 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Rom 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Rom 8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Rom 8:33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.
Rom 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Rom 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Transforming Power Statements:

#1) The patriarch Abraham is Isaiah’s model of true unmerited salvation with equal power in the Older Testament, as is that of the Apostle Paul in the New Testament who relied on the foundation of all the OT Prophets i.e. Moses, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, etc. All of whom prophesy of the Messiah Jesus and the reign of His promised and delegated authority from The Father to execute justice and earn righteousness for the human family at the Cross.

#2) Credentials are official documentation or seal of the authenticity and authority of one to represent and execute with official status on behalf of the commissioning entity, Who in our case is God; Who has predestined, called, sanctified, and glorified each believer in Jesus Christ and sent us forth with full authority to operate on His behalf!

#3) When this amazing legacy is realized by the called, and as an act of the will you decide to take off the stained garments of the past and place up on you the garments of His salvation having your loins girded about with truth, the breast plate of righteousness, the feet shod with the Gospel of Peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, The sword of the Spirit, Fervent prayer, all these are invisible things of God that we possess as our “Credentials” but they are clearly seen by the watching world of the lost who are in desperate need of the same. (And guess what? God has an endless wardrobe!)

How Sin Affects Believers

Old Testament Scripture Reading Zechariah 3:1 – 9 (NASB)
Zec 3:1 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.
Zec 3:2 And the LORD said to Satan, “The LORD rebuke you, Satan! Indeed, the LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?”
Zec 3:3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments and standing before the angel.
Zec 3:4 And he spoke and said to those who were standing before him saying, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” Again he said to him, “See, I have taken your iniquity away from you and will clothe you with festal robes.”
Zec 3:5 Then I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with garments, while the angel of the LORD was standing by.
Zec 3:6 And the angel of the LORD admonished Joshua saying,
Zec 3:7 “Thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘If you will walk in My ways, and if you will perform My service, then you will also govern My house and also have charge of My courts, and I will grant you free access among these who are standing here.
Zec 3:8 ‘Now listen, Joshua the high priest, you and your friends who are sitting in front of you– indeed they are men who are a symbol, for behold, I am going to bring in My servant the Branch.
Zec 3:9 ‘For behold, the stone that I have set before Joshua; on one stone are seven eyes. Behold, I will engrave an inscription on it,’ declares the LORD of hosts, ‘and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
New Testament Scripture Reading Romans 7:13 – 25 (NASB)
Rom 7:12 So then, the Law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good.
Rom 7:13 Therefore did that which is good become a cause of death for me? May it never be! Rather it was sin, in order that it might be shown to be sin by effecting my death through that which is good, that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful.
Rom 7:14 For we know that the Law is spiritual; but I am of flesh, sold into bondage to sin.
Rom 7:15 For that which I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate.
Rom 7:16 But if I do the very thing I do not wish to do, I agree with the Law, confessing that it is good.
Rom 7:17 So now, no longer am I the one doing it, but sin which indwells me.
Rom 7:18 For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the wishing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not.
Rom 7:19 For the good that I wish, I do not do; but I practice the very evil that I do not wish.
Rom 7:20 But if I am doing the very thing I do not wish, I am no longer the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me.
Rom 7:21 I find then the principle that evil is present in me, the one who wishes to do good.
Rom 7:22 For I joyfully concur with the law of God in the inner man,
Rom 7:23 but I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind, and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members.
Rom 7:24 Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?
Rom 7:25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin.

Transforming Power Statements:
#1) The holiness of the Law of God when presented reveals to the transgressors thereof the carnality of their nature and is designed to amplify sin and draw the sinner to accountability before God.

#2) The saved individual has been given a deep inner desire to please God and really wishes to live in accordance with the Law of God and is often found in conflict with God in that there is yet the presence of indwelling sin.

#3) The only deliverance from such a fallen condition is by the blood of Jesus Whom God has sent forth to deliver all who believe in Him from eternal wrath and endless judgment.

Hallowed – 1. to make holy or set apart for holy use 2 : to respect greatly

Halloween not allowed? Why not you ask? It seems like a perfectly innocent day filled with laughter, gaiety and treats for the kids. What could be the harm in that?

Imagine, if you will, that we are in the South of Britain; it is a cool, late autumn evening. Our time period places us about 300 years before the birth of Jesus Christ. The Celtic civilization is in full swing; they are spreading their bloody conquest from the British Isles through Scandinavia, Europe and all the way to Asia Minor. These people are completely pagan, worshipping many gods, and although they profess to be ruled by kingships, the real power is in the hands of the Druids. This secret priestly society is ruled by terror and by sorcery. Even the kings are afraid of the mysterious, unremitting Druids. We all know that when the king becomes too old to lead battles or father children, they will sacrifice him to their gods, cutting open his body while he is still alive and using his internal organs for divination and other magic….

Spiritual darkness covers the land, overshadowing every aspect of our lives, robbing even the laughter and play of the innocence (children) with its horrendous presence. Life is very hard; it always has been for us peasants. The nearness of the mysterious, unconquerable silent Druids is a constant threat to us. It looms over us with its grave, repulsive presence, always felt but never really understood. We know to keep away from them… and to pray… Dear Lord, cover us with your protection.

As the day approaches that we fear more than any other, our trepidation escalates. It is the day that we’ve dreaded all year long. It is October 31st, the festival of Samhain, the Festival of Death. Samhain is their God of Death; he is their most powerful god. The people believe that on this day, the old year dies and the New Year begins. It is the Celtic New Year, as well as the Festival of Samhain, the Festival of Death. They honor this pagan god on this night, but the great climatic moment will commence at midnight. Darkness, fear, and death will prevail. Many human sacrifices will be presented to Samhain. Divination, spirits, and sorcery will be practiced tonight. Blackness and evil is deepest and death more sovereign tonight than at any other time of the year and midnight will be the climax…

As I sit looking out of the window of my home the sun is setting over the not too distance western hills and darkness moves swiftly into the valley. I must arise and hastily complete my chores for with the darkness comes the time of the Druids. An uneasy hush falls over the land; people have become quiet, saying very little as they hurry off the streets. Shops are closing early, lamps are extinguished and children called to be held close.

As the darkness deepens you can see fires blazing on the surrounding hills and strange cries are heard, with other sounds too eerie to identify. Chanting can be heard and bizarre figures can be seen leaping through fires. Listen…to the screams. A wave of paralyzing fear rises and falls…. out of the darkness they come…the Druids.

Shrouded in robes with mysterious, magical markings, they come…each carrying slung over his shoulder a hollowed out turnip with an oil lamp burning inside. Carved into the side of the hollowed out turnip is an evil, hideous face in the likeness of the demon that is said to dwell inside. (The people of the New World began to use pumpkins, because they were much easier to carve than turnips-they were called “Jock/Jack of the Lantern”; it has now been shorten to jack-o-lantern) The demon is the Druid’s spirit guide, his personal little god, who directs and empowers his life.

We, who are inside of our homes, tremble in silence, barely breathing, hoping the awful Druids will pass on by and go on to another thatched-roof house. Then comes the thumping on the door… the unnatural moaning chant. They aren’t going to pass us by; oh, no….they are here! (Oh God, in Heaven, help us!) My husband opens the door, with a trembling hand (for open the door you must!), and there stands the Druids spokesman’s demanding certain foods. (The Druids have a strange diet and on the night of the Festival of Death, they go from house to house demanding peculiar foods. If you give them these foods they go on in silence, but if you don’t the people in the house are cursed with trouble, sickness, and death.)

The fires roar upwards, summoning and guiding the spirits of the wicked dead, witches and evil spirits go forth over the land. Lawlessness increases. Cats can be heard screeching and howling, the Druids believe them to be reincarnations of the wicked dead, possessed with supernatural knowledge and power. It’s a night of raw, sickening horror As the midnight hour approaches, the madness increases; humans are ripped open, hearts tore out from peoples while still beating; the internal organs are spilled on the ground and are used for divination. Other atrocities are performed too revolting to be described. Woe, to anyone who is found outside his or her home. Babies are thrown into fires while they scream for their mothers; wicked celebrants are dancing and howling around fires in drunken-demonized fits of orgiastic licentiousness.

Of course, Satan’s help is invoked as many forms of magic, witchcraft, and sorcery are performed. Much guidance and information about the coming New Year is sought. It goes on all throughout the night, but the madness reaches its climax at midnight and gradually diminishes. By daylight, we are exhausted from being tense and terrorized all night. But gradually each of us begins to cautiously move about. On the hillsides the fires have died down and nothing but ashes are left and the bones of those who were sacrificed. We call them “bonfires” and avoid going too near them, for the smell of death and the presence of evil heavily permeates. We are weary and relieved that by God’s grace we have survived.

As I embrace my husband and children I tearfully thank God that we have survived another Festival of Death.

Ridiculous you say? Another fairy tale you think? Well, just bear with me a moment longer while I explain to you how this hideous ritual has been incorporated into our lives today.

As the centuries passed and the Druids, under Roman domination, declined in numbers and power, the common people entered more and more into the practices of Samhain. They particularly practiced many forms of divination for “good luck”. Since Samhain, was the beginning of the New Year, they begin these practices of good luck, (which entailed finding favor with the evil spirits). One popular form of this was to kneel around a tub of water filled with apples floating in it, and the first one who could get one without using his hands, (only using his teeth), would have favor, good favor with the spirits in the coming new year. We call this bobbing for apples and consider it harmless fun. Then each would peel his or her apple, trying to peel it off in one piece (which gave the peeler particular power and gained favor with the spirits.) The peeling was thrown over the left shoulder, to show an apparition (ghostly vision) of the one who would become your sex partner or spouse, depending on the local custom, during the coming new year. Sound familiar? Many superstitious customs developed as time passed, and became ingrained in the people’s lives.

In the eight century, the Pope, in an attempt to get the people to abandon the Festival of Samhain, and all its evil occult, idolatrous practices, established All Saints Day on November 1st. This holy day was to be the day for honoring the Christian Dead, particularly those who died as martyrs in the terrible Roman persecutions. He hoped that the people would substitute All Saints Day for the Festival of Death. It didn’t work. This attempt to end Samhain has caused trouble to this very day. Its location on the calendar has led many people to believe that Samhain is a Christian day. How did this happen?

In the British Isles, All Saints Day came to be called “All Halloweds” since it was a day to honor all the “hallowed ones”, (hallow means holy or sacred), and the Christian dead. Since Samhain occurred the evening before All Halloweds, it came to be called “All Halloweds Evening” or just “Hallows E’en” and finally, to “Halloween” as we know it. Because of the relationship in the names, and the adjacent dates, many today entertain the idea that Halloween is somehow a Christian holiday. This has made it easier for the ungodly festival to move right into the churches each October and flourish there, spreading its cultic poison. But we know the truth. This hideous holiday for devils had nothing to do with Jesus Christ and the Christian Church and it never has! Its origin began 500 years before the birth of Jesus Christ, and is in every way an abomination to our Holy God, and a deadly enemy of the faith of the saints.

Today, there is a fresh outpouring of evil upon the Earth. There is the revival of witchcraft and all forms of Satanism. Halloween is still a dreaded night when the old, the weak, and helpless tend to turn out the lights in hopes that Halloween marauders will pass them by. It ‘s a night when the innocent children are in danger. Every year children disappear; some are killed in dark streets by cars, other by poisonous candy, (Hospitals kindly offer to x-ray the children’s candy free of charge but image the harmful effects of radiation over a period of time), some leave home dressed in demon, vampire, and witches costumes and never return. They are the principal targets. (Some people believe that costumes are donned so that a person may hide from the evil spirits on this night. We know that evil spirits are ancient; would they really fall for such a cheap trick?) We conduct parties for them where we frighten them with horror stories and contaminate them with divination and magic, then we send them out into the darkness, to reenact the Druidic “trick or treat*” rituals of Samhain. Some don’t ever come back.

The fact is that there is money in it. Think of the millions of dollars that are spent on costumes, decorations, and candy. As the years go by we can see a rise in the amount of “stuff” the retailers want us to purchase. Now, there are even Halloween socks, sweatshirts, and underwear. And guess what else? A Halloween tree of lights no less!

There can be no compromise with evil, even with the appearance of evil. “Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?” (II Cor. 6:14 NAS). My husband and I do not take our children trick or treating *nor buy them costumes. In our home,

Please consider the words of Joshua 24:15

“And if it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

The Truth Untold

And you shall know the truth: and the truth shall make you free”. — John 8:33

What is the true meaning and depth of this verse for Christians today? In this day and age, the truth is continuously suppressed from the ears of all that are deaf to the voice of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. In the schools, media, work field, and even the government, the truth is suppressed and said to be unconstitutional and disputable. Just recently in the courts government debated on whether or not the Ten Commandments should be posted publicly. This country was founded on more than just the fact that all men are created equal; it was also founded on the fact that all men are created in the image of the everlasting God, the Father, being dignified in the righteousness of the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Now America suffers from her poor decisions to acknowledge He that has blessed this country and has been merciful in the chastisement of this country that is far past due in time.

In case one were to be confused or unaware of what the word “truth” in the context of this composition, the truth would refer to the things that are morally correct based upon Bible principles and doing things the way Jesus would have done.

These principles have been terminated to almost non-existent in the schools. The youth of this nation gets pointed and lead to everywhere but where they need to look. In virtually all of the shows and sitcoms, the media portrays homosexual (as well as heterosexual) innuendos laced throughout the shows so that society can get comfortable with this disease –like deviation. In previous times, this nation used to be very moral by censoring what comes out of the mouths of people on the television and radio. And nowadays profanity is used more freely and without hesitation. Today’s contemporary music constantly depicts bad morality, corruption, and violence. Most of the music teaches you that you should be able to do things your way or no way at all. The youth can’t even begin to understand the concepts of truth because the media constantly pumps bad morality and lies into their minds. Satan is most definitely the prince of the power of this air, the spirit that now works on the children of unbelief, and he is definitely busy! And Being Prince of the power of the air, this means that he uses the media as a transmission of his perversion of God’s truth.

Things that the media tells you today:

· Every religion is the same (we are all worshiping the same God)

· Everyone should accept homosexuality as an alternative lifestyle (“ I think my election is one of several indications that gay and lesbian folk are being brought more into the center of the church. It’s not about me. It’s about not having to be ashamed.” – Bishop Gene Robinson)

· Children don’t have to obey they’re parents, it’s their life anyway

· Abortion is the women’s choice of what she chooses to do with her body

· Being a drunkard is okay as long as you’re twenty one and over and you do it responsibly

· Sex is okay as long as it’s safe

I am certain that these are only a few of the things that are in the media that people are lead to believe and follow today. But this is were the truth comes in. The Bible teaches things that are in complete opposition to what the media says about things.

What the Bible says:

· There is only one way to get to heaven and one God. (“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me’.” John 14:6.)

· Homosexuality isn’t nor ever will be accepted in the eyes of God (“Don’t you know that wicked people won’t inherit the kingdom of God? Stop deceiving yourselves! People who continue to commit sexual sins, who worship false gods, those who commit adultery, homosexuals, or thieves, those who are greedy or drunk, who use abusive language, or who rob people will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
1 Corinthians 6:9-10)

· Children should always obey they’re parents (“Children, always obey your parents. This is pleasing to the Lord.” 1 Colossians 3:20)

· Abortion is not the choice of what the women will do with her body because she is not her own. (Don’t you know that your body is a temple that belongs to the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit, whom you received from God, lives in you. You don’t belong to yourselves.” 1 Corinthians 16:9)

· Drinking alcohol to get drunk is not okay for anyone for any reason. (Don’t get drunk on wine, which leads to wild living. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Ephesians 5:18 also see 1 Corinthians 16:9 and 1 Corinthians 6:9- 10)

· Sex is being abused today when it was only intended for marriage. (“Marriage is honorable in every way, so husbands and wives should be faithful to each other. God will judge those who commit sexual sins, especially those who commit adultery.” Hebrews 13:4

These things are not being taught in our society today and as a result, America makes a whore of herself by opening herself to all immoral and devious customs. People are wondering why things are going the way that they are going. Someone once said if you don’t take a stand for something you’ll fall for anything.

Broad is the road which leads to destruction and many enter through this gate. There are many ways to walk through this gate of destruction and this country is laced and diseased with these very ways, which leads straight to an eternal life in Hell.

But the narrow gate and the road that lead to life are full of trouble. It ‘s really easy to live a life of sin and obeying the desires of your flesh. Only a few people find the narrow gate. It takes a lot more effort to walk in the divine light and acknowledge the power and amazing grace of Jesus Christ and bring your flesh in submission to God. And once you take a step on the road that leads to life, the devil comes forth like a roaring lion seeking to devour you!

The Bibles says that faith comes by hearing, and hearing through the word of God. And our adversary is doing all he can to keep the untold truth unspeakable all around the world.
